It was indeed a night of glitz and glamour at the prestigious Eko Hotels &Suites venue of the FORTYfied concert in commemoration of Pop musician, 2Face Idibia on his journey as a celebrated and internationally acclaimed African Musician.
The usual African Time Factor
Scheduled to kick-off at the exactly 5pm, the concert did not start until about 9:38pm with the host of the night, Comic act, Basketmouth who apologized on behalf of the organisers on technical ground malfunctions. The event eventually kick started with a brief biography of the celebrant, 2face Idibia.
The 55 awards on display
It was indeed a memorable night for attendees at the concert as there was a massive display of about 55 awards that include local and international plaque clichéd by the pop stars ranging from Headies, soundcity, Kora, MTV, NEA amongst others.
About Annie’s Silver outfit
Annie Idibia stepped out looking so beautiful and glamourous rocking the Swanky Jerry Silver studded gown creating a massive buzz all through the night.
D’banj performs with Harmonica
Known for his Harmonica usage, D’banj made a grand entrance with the ‘Harmonica’ (mouth organ) the one piece that brought him to stardom. He delivered a beautiful performance that got the audience and even his former partner and Mavins boss, Don Jazzy on their dancing feet.
Cobhams and Timi’s performance
Just Steve Wonder, Cobhams Asuquo was indeed the man of the night alongside Timi Dakolo after a wonderful performance of 2Face’s E don dey happen”, “Step on the dance floor” hit songs.
Cobhams showed his uttermost dexterity in playing the piano and a more satisfying rendition of the songs that got the entire crowd standing including the pop star.
Did you see the face on Don Jazzy?
Mavins boss (Don jazzy) refused to smile when taking pictures with his ex-partner D’banj after a plea was made by 2Face calling on the duo to make one more major hit. D’banj on his part showed zeal and smiled when the pop star announced that but Jazzy on the other hand made no moves.
