There is an abundant array of opportunities to get children engaged. ICCF wants to create awareness, methods, approach for parents on how to Raise Respectful, Responsible And Protect Children From Child and Drug Abuses. The ability and desire to form emotional relationships is related to the organization and functioning of specific parts of the human brain that develop during infancy and the first years of life. Experiences during this early vulnerable period affect a child’s core attachment capabilities. A child’s ability to feel empathy, be caring, inhibit aggression, love, and acquire other characteristics typical of a healthy, happy, and productive person are tied to the child’s care at the beginning of life Child abuse is a national tragedy, taking the lives of three children every day and affecting millions of children and families every year. We need to work together to help strengthen and support families so that we can prevent such tragedies from occurring. The impact of abuse is far greater than its immediate, visible effects. Abuse and neglect are associated with short and long- term consequences that may include brain damage, developmental delays, learning disorders, problems forming relationships, aggressive behavior, and depression. Survivors of child abuse and neglect may be at greater risk for problems later in life—such as low academic achievement, drug use, teen pregnancy, and criminal behavior—that affect not just the child and family, but society . The children are now on a long holiday most parents are saddled with care and protection , at this period the children are more vulnerable to assaults. ICCF child abuse awareness month program comes up in November but it starts in August with parent’s forum, a sensitization program for parents on how to raise their children. Our efforts is to interact with parents also to focused attention on prevention efforts on child abuse that will create healthier environments for children, foster confident and positive parenting.
Many parents unknowingly falls into parenting traps that interfere with raising respectful, responsible children and protecting children from child and drug abuse.

Hence we have reputable and professionals to lecture and have interactive session with parents. The awareness program is to give human service to parents and market women within Lagos Island district. This program began in partnership with Onigbogbo LCDA for the benefit of parents within the local district and this laudable program intends to move round all the Local Governments and LCDA’s in Lagos State.
