By 27th of November this year, the Fuji Music Star, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma aka WAP 1 will clock 49 years and also mark his 25th year anniversary on stage as a successful Fuji music act. However, for years, this Oro, Kwara State (North Central) Nigeria born entertainer has been rumored to be single without a wife under his roof. In fact, for the Omo-Olope crooner, it has become a cultuture almost every year to link him with one woman or the other with information often claiming that he will be tying the nuptial knot. But such informations always fizzle out at the tale end with no veracity of truth in them. But couple of months ago, your Africa’s Number 1 Celebrity Encounter blog, Asabeafrika stumbled on the real woman who caught the Fuji musician’s heart in the last 7 years. She granted us an interview inside her Ojodu, Lagos office and told us stylishly about her relationship with Wasiu Alabi Pasuma. Even though she refused to come out clear about the relationship then but it was very obvious that the two were very much in love. The Ile-Ife, Osun State (South Western Nigeria) born real estate expert, who goes by the name Mrs. Yetunde Babajide has been secretly married to the Orobokibo fuji music exponent for the last 7 years without raising any air of awareness. We learnt she is the only woman among the several women who had kids for the Fuji music act, that is endorsed by his mother, Alhaja Adijat Kubura (Iyawo Anabi) and equally well loved by the woman. Can you believe that this is the 7th year since Baba Wasila (As Pasuma is famously adressed) got married to this Ile-Ife, Osun State born lady? . They had a Muslim Nikkai marriage where the two familes met and agreed on their being married together. So, who is Mrs. Yetunde Babajide? . Last week, for the very first time, Mrs. Yetunde Babajide who is equally the Iyalaje of Ojodu Kingdom in Lagos and who deals majorly in real estate and general merchandize came out for the very first time to break the lid on the 7 years scoop, Mrs. Babajide who is the Convener of the Buhari Support Group one of the political movements that canvassed for the election of President Muhammad Buhari during the 2015 Presidential election declared she is the authentic wife of Pasuma. Yetunde Babajide who has a British passport to her name is making history as one of the most educated ladies to marry a Fuji musician in a very long while. Despite the fact that Mrs. Babajide felt reluctant to talk about the secret of her relationship with Pasuma, she however came under strong injunction from a vernacular magazine, Alariya Oodua owned by late journalist, Lanre Dodo Balogun. She broke the story of the secret of her 7 years romance with the Fuji music lord to Alariya Oodua for the first time. Your Africa’s number 1 Celebrity Encounter Blog, Asabeafrika reproduces the exclusive interview here today. Enjoy! Madam, can you share your profile with us? My name is Alhaja Yetunde Babajide Odetola. I am the wife of Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma that he married officially. I am from Ile-Ife even though my parents lived in Ikire. I earned my Primary School education up to University degree in Nigeria. I am the Chief Executive Officer of Yefadot Group of Companies with many other subsidiaries. I am into politics and I am a title holder of Iyalode of the entire Ojodu kingdom inLagos state. By the grace of God I also run an NGO called Total Peace Foundation where I use my wealth to reach out to the underprivileged ones in the society. We help and empower those we can empower and I also counsel people on marriage and this has lead to the building of several marriages and several homes that could have broken. I am fulfilled helping people. Pasuma is the best husband in the world… How did you met and fall in love with the Fuji Music Star, Alabi Pasuma. Or are you just one of those women who had a kid or two for him? Never! I am his legally married wife. This is the 7th year we did our Nikkai marriage and Alhaji (Pasuma) paid my dowry. (Showed the reporter picture of the wedding event). Destiny brought myself and Alhaji (Pasuma) together. If you listen to one of his albums he released and titled “My World”, it is the story of my life and his own life that neccessitated the message of that album. In fact, to be honest with you, I never believe I could marry my husband because I am a well read and educated woman. A business woman and a politician. In fact, my colleagues in politics didn’t believe I could marry someone like that but destiny is more powerful than any circumstance in life. Destiny brought us together. That was why I celebrated my 50th birthday last year and tagged it with the name of my husband so that the whole world will get to know the truth about us. I brought a lot of my friends and everybody to the event just to show that my husband is a very gentle, enlightened and cool minded person and not a tout like Fuji musicians all over are being perceiced. And let me tell you this, the Pasuma you see on the stage is very different from the Pasuma who is my husband at home because he is a very gentle man who does not indulge in drinking or smoking. In fact, (Pasuma) is the best husband in the world. He is not a tout like people perceive all Fuji Musicians. “I am not aware of my husband having another wife. I am aware of the fact that I am his legally married wife whom he paid a dowry on. He married me traditionally by paying my dowry and religiously by doing a Nikkai for me. I know it is only a man who knows the woman who occupies his heart most but with his attitude towards me, it sure that his love for me is unconditional”. How Pasuma’s mum endorsed me… But why was your marriage to him very discreet and why are you not living with him in his Omole home? It was our choice to make it a low key event. Infact when we started dating, nobody knew about it at all. On the issue of living together or not living together, there is no time that I and my husband don’t see ourselves. It is a mutual agreement that we live our lives like that. You see my mother-in-law, Alhaja Adija Kubrat Iyawo Anobi so much love me. There is no day I don’t go visiting her and in a day, we may speak like 8 times on the telephone. In fact, taking care of Mama is my passionate responsibility. 'I am not aware my husband (Pasuma) shares his love with any other woman' 'Pasuma is a practical person, he does not believe in flaunting his wealth around' How do you feel when you see a lot of women trying hard to seek or get the attention of your husband, especially those who gave him kids. Can you say you are his genuine lover among all? (Laughs heartily). You are just seeing it that way. My husband does not womanise but maybe because of the kind of profession he choose and because of his fame, a lot of women do run after him. And that is because he has the good aura of love around him and he is not someone who can frown his face on people. I am not aware of my husband having another wife. I am aware of the fact that I am his legally married wife whom he paid a dowry on. He married me traditionally by paying my dowry and religiously by doing a Nikkai for me. I know it is only a man who knows the woman who occupies his heart most but with his attitude towards me, it sure that his love for me is unconditional. “The good thing about my husband is that he is not a person who will have something and go on the television or radio to make a cassete about it. He likes keeping his achievement to himself. I am into real estate and I do other businesses. I have properties in choice areas in this country, are they not my husband’s own?” 'No musician has the kind of power & influence my husband has over Omole & Ojodu where i am Iyalode' How many kids has the marriage produced? Many; before we got married we have both had kids from other relationships but all his children are mine and my own children are his as well. In fact, all his kids don’t stay away from me, they don’t joke with my ambience as they are always with me. But I also have a child for him, we have boys and we have girls for each other. 'My husband neither chases women, smoke or drink. He is a very gentle man' Why Pasuma does not flaunt his wealth… There is a strong percetion that your husband loves buying cars with his wealth and that he has no real estate of his own. As Pasuma’s wife, can you tell us how many buildings your husband has? He is rich in properties. It is a pity that a lot of people don’t know the person called Pasuma. Pasuma is somebody who is never carried away with matrial wealth, he is so generous that he could even give out his eye ball. As you are seeing Pasuma, go and investigate. People who have built homes from working with my husband are so many. That alone is what gives him joy and the one he built by himself does not get into his head as a Muslim. You see, the properties he built by himself are very uncountable. You will also be shocked to know the amount of businesses he invested in. The good thing about my husband is that he is not a person who will have something and go on the television or radio to make a cassete about it. He likes keeping his achievement to himself. I am into real estate and I do other businesses. I have properties in choice areas in this country, are they not my husband’s own? My husband does not make noise with his success, that is why people perceive him as someone who is poor in the area of owing properties. 'A lot of people have big misconception about my husband. The Pasuma at home is not the same Pasuma on stage' “Agba-Akin Ojodu Abioldun that is under the Ifo Local Government Area in Ogun State is what Osupa got. We have two Ojodus, my own Ojodu is of Lagos State; so he was honored at the Ojodu town under Ogun State. The entire Ojodu to Omole is under the protectorate of Pasuma”. Your husband is quite a busy man, so how do you make time to see each other and make love? There is not time I want to see my husband that we don’t see, it is a mutual agreement between us. We are a couple, so, we cannot do without seeing each other. We speak at least three times a day on the phone that is after we must have met initially. How do you cordinate your various businesses, manage politics and be a housewife to Pasuma? It is God my brother. There is nothing I take as a hobby that I don’t go learning about it and in most cases I even receive certificates. For politics, I went into politics to change the way politics is being played in Nigeria. Majority of the politicians today don’t have a tangible job they are doing. They tell you politics is their only job but you soon discover that they are not politicians, they loot to stay afloat beacause they don’t have any other job. By God’s grace, I am also the conveneer, Buhari Friends Organization under APC in the entire Yoruba land. And I can conveniently say “Alihamdulilai” (Thank God) for the way things are going. Are you planing to contest an elective post in the nearest future? Today in Lagos and even in the Lagos APC, I am not a novice. I am well known. In fact, I am the leader of the APC members in Ojodu land. If there is a need to take a slot for leadership, we will take it. We have seen women who ruled as Presidents and Governors, it is not new. So, I will never say never. As the Iyalode of Ojodu land, how did you receive the news that your husband’s business competitor, Alhaji Saheed Osupa is now the Agba-Akin of Ojodu land up to Omole land where your husband lives? Agba-Akin Ojodu up to Omole ke? With the glory of God, I am the Iyalode of the entire Ojodu land in Lagos. Saheed Osupa can never say he is the Agba-Akin of Ojodu land in Lagos State where I am the reigning Iyalode. Impossible. And the King who honored him with such title has not come out to comfirm it. Agba-Akin Ojodu Abioldun that is under the Ifo Local Government Area in Ogun State is what Osupa got. We have two Ojodus, my own Ojodu is of Lagos State; so he was honored at the Ojodu town under Ogun State. The entire Ojodu to Omole is under the protectorate of Pasuma. He spreads his authority and influence over Ojodu up to Omole, he is the brand ambassador of the entire area. Let me tell you another shocking thing about my husband, he does not believe in taking chieftaincy titles. The only title he received is the one of “Olu Omo Oro” which is his town. Not that he is poor to earn a title. If Pasuma get a chieftaincy title today, I can boadly tell you that before a week runs out, they will give him two hundred more titles because he is generally loved by many. Those begging him with chieftaincy titles are uncountable.
