 It will forever remain a memorable day in the life of residents of the Popo Aguda communities as leading councillorship aspirant from ward D2/D3 Hon. Saheed Ayeni dragged members of the community to an interactive forum with the theme " Reappraisal of the Conduct and Misconduct of Today's Youth,
 Our Historical Background and Heritage".
Excerpt from the opening speech he read out to the members of the public
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen to all the amiable and selfless leaders amongst us present, the Community Development Association, Fanty leaders, my mentor HON MONSUR ALAO OWOLABI, my fathers, my mother ALH RISIKAT ADUKI AYENI, my mothers, brothers and sisters. I welcome you all to todays Popo Aguda community interactive programme which geared towards appraising the conduct and misconduct of today's youth vis-a-vis our historical background and heritage. Standing before you is your son, brother, colleague, friend, neighbourhood COM. SAHEED OLATUNDE AYENI

Special greetings to the CDA for their efforts towards developing Popo Aguda Community, your efforts are noticed and the reward is near and for our betterment. The purpose of coming up with this programme alongside the CDA Leaders within the community and all lovers of a progressive Popo Aguda Community is to re-instate the lost of our community within our local government area. Popo Aguda is known for its vibrant people who are outgoing, industrious and Leaders in all front. Our founding fathers early settlers were traders and artisans who are technically gifted people who were Leader front liners in our their chosen career. Popo Aguda is one of the best neighbourhood with fun loving people in Lagos Island. despite all the challenges faced by these people of the past they were still able to make a meaningful contribution to Lagos Island, Lagos and Nigeria as a whole... Where are today's youth? Where did we go wrong? What did our leaders do that we are not doing? These are question begging for answer My advice for the youth is that we should * Emulate the good leaders of this community. * We should at all time consider ourselves as ambassador and good representative of our family, and community as a whole.

Ebonymediagist  gathered that Popo Aguda people other wise known as the Brazilian were settlers from Brazil, Portuguese, Lome and other west coat countries in the world to Nigeria, Lagos Island precisely. Speaking at the colourful gathering that attracted captain of industries, professionals,corporate bodies, political and religious leaders, business men and women, CDA's, the like of Onipopo of Popo Aguda, Chief Oluyomi Mc Gregor went down memory lane about the Background and heritage of the communities ,as well as some of the tremendous change that has shaped the face of the community like the popular prison park now known as freedom park, campus burial ground which is now campus mini stadium,charcoal village now campus square adding that the biggest council hall in African, city hall is situated in Popo Aguda community. On his on part, the head of Popo Aguda Youth Association, Mr Sharafa Amao all on the youths to snub corrupt politician and remain focus to their dream adding that the youth remains the strong pillar of every given society. The high point of the event was the flag off of the Popo Aguda community flag which stands for love, progress and peaceful co-existent among residents.

In an interview, with the Onipopo of Popo, Chief Oluyomi Mc Gregor told newsmen that this was an august event put together by a young, visionary and vibrant councillorship aspirant in the community as he pleaded to the leadership of the Ruling All Progressive Congress. we had the likes of MASHADO LAWYER BASSEY MADAM RANTI DAUDU CHIEF OWOLABI MARTINS DR. OLUYOMI MC GREGOR MR & MRS TUNDE FASHINA LAWYER MUNIS RIP to those that late.
