Excerpts from his Opening Speech below:
I SAHEED OLATUNDE AYENI (Hon) would like to submit the following as my intent to run for the position of councillor in Ward D2/3 zone 3 Lagos Island East constituency II under the platform of our great party the ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS.
In this position ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS Ward D2/3 need someone with energy and requisite knowledge to deliver the divided of democracy i am confident that i am that person.
I understand if chosen this is an awesome responsibility i believe i would be an asset of our party as councillor representing Ward D2/3 because i am passionate about politics and believe there is great value for our democracy in encouraging young professionals to be more involved within the political system.
My extent of experience in coordinating and organizing people to the volunteer work i have done on several democracy campaign with the Ward, constituency, local government and state has prepared me for this great task.
As a Lagos Island native (OLOKODANA) OLUMEGBON chieftaincy family, Olori Odejobi and the head of white cap chief Lagos State. I attended first BAPTIST NURSERY SCHOOL, ST PETER'S FAJI SCHOOL and EKO AKETE GRAMMAR SCHOOL where i obtained the senior school leaving certificate (SSCE) and proceeded to the LAGOS STATE POLYTECHNIC to bag and National Diploma in Insurance.
I am a member of the defunct ALLIANCE FOR DEMOCRACY (AD) i have witnessed the party involved from ACTION CONGRESS (AC) to ACTION CONGRESS OF NIGERIA (ACN) and now to the great "ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS" (APC).
I have done so many programs before today
* EBOLA AWARENESS RALLY
* LASSA FEVER AWARENESS RALLY
* POPO AGUDA COMMUNITY INTERACTION FORUM
* ENLIGHTEN THE PUBLIC ON HOW THEY CAN COLLECTED THEIR PVC, LASSRA CARD AND NEW NATIONAL ID CARD.
* ENLIGHTEN THE YOUTH ON ISLAND TO "SAY NO TO VIOLENCE"
So many things has been done silently to the Ward D2/3, Popo Aguda community and All Progressive Congress (APC) direct and indirectly.
I have been a polling unit agent 004 from 1999 till date and occupy the position of secretary in zone 3 for 12years in addition to holding different positions in in different political and now political group within Lagos State.
I am organizing secretary of THE ISLAND ELITES a non political group that has carried out different humanitarian service such as EBOLA AWARENESS CAMPAIGN in constituency I and II the first group in Nigeria.
I have several committed within my constituency and really enjoyed experiencing fellowship with democrat across Lagos Island i have volunteered and worked on a number of campaign whelping members get elected and really enjoyed supporting issues that impact my ward constituency and Lagos Island as a whole.
2016 is a critical year for young democracy in Lagos Island and Lagos in general as a councillor i would ensure that i create an environment to encourage young people to become and stay activated in the politics of CHANGE. I am looking forward to the proper channels and people to create this environment.

I look forward to running councillor and hope i am given the chance to expand on the great work the party has achieved in the meantime.
