NPWW Abuja 2019 Convention: Building on the Success of 2018 Calendar-Year Activities

Nigerian Professional working Women Organization (NPWW) is the largest and most recognized network of female executives, professionals and entrepreneurs in Nigeria with over 2 (two) million women (members) seeking greater opportunities to fulfill their professional and personal goals.

The network prides itself in partnership with reputable national and international organisations that have over the years, demonstrated passion and commitment on the welfare of women in all strata.


Following the successful outing of the inaugural convention held in 2018, the NPWW is set to hold its second annual convention 27th and 28th of November, 2019 at the NAF Centre in Abuja.


The theme for this year’s event is; ‘Repositioning Nigerian Women for Greater Impact in the Task of Building a New and Peaceful Nigeria’.


Speaking on the benefits of the convention to participants, Founder/President of the organisation, Emiola Adenike Jennifer said that the event promises to be a bumper and mega package.


“Apart from the awareness and exposure each state’s delegation would gain at the event, there are other programmes designed to ensure women take their rightful place in our nation.


“The Convention would address in most practical ways possible, myriads of issues confronting women in our society and proffer solutions. Issues that relate to economic empowerment, harmful and backward cultural practices, poor participation of women in politics and many more shall be dealt with extensively at the Convention.


Highlighting the objectives of the programme, the President said the convention would enhance women's actual and potential role in productive and social activities as architects of the emerging new Nigeria; Facilitate women's access to productive resources, services and to access social and economic benefits, while reducing social, legal and economic constraints that frustrate women's ability to effectively participate in and benefit from productive and other development-oriented programmes as well as proffer solutions for dealing with the obstacles hindering women's participation in the socio-economic and political activities of the country.


Speakers, facilitators and dignitaries to grace the convention include; First Lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria Her Excellency, Hajia Aisha Buhari; Hon. Minister for Women Affairs, Hon. Dame Pauline Tallen OFR; Convener of the convention and Founder/President of NPWW, Engr. Adenike Jennifer Emiola Iyiola; Founder of Nellies Nigeria, Nelly Agbogu; Founder of Chow Foods Nigeria, Anona Ifunanya; Business and Brand Analyst, Mr. Segun Sega Awosanya; renowned NTA Presenter, Lizzy Agbai; Executive Director, Citizen Advocacy for Social and Economic Rights (CASER) Barr. Frank Tietie; Guest Artist, Aituaje Iruobe (WAJE) and Enenche Enenche as Host of the event.


Another major programme of the convention is the annual exhibition which is will be staged to present Nigerian women a veritable platform to gain exposure in their endeavours, thereby discovering endless opportunities to connect, grow, learn and inspire.


“With over 500 professional/ business women expected to be in attendance and cross-fertilization of ideas for individual/group empowerment.


“Key participants at the exhibition will include; China/Nigeria Chamber of Commerce, Oriflame Cosmetics, World Health Organisation, Society for Family Health, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Federal Inland Revenue (FIRS), National Agency for Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN), Startimes Nigeria, BATA Shoe, Art & Culture Bstan Home, Innoson Car, NIRSAL, NTDC among others,” Emiola Said.
