The book was launched to expound the heterobiography political life of Chief Bisi Akande, apply titled "The Bisi Akande Phenomenon?" edited by Lai Olurode of University of Lagos and Dhikhurullah Adewale Yagboyaju of University of Ibadan, on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba Lagos.
The book is 238 pages and published this year, chronicled the monumental achievement recorded by this great man within a very short space of time. It is indeed a data bank of the records of the innovative and impactful changes that chief Bisi Akande brought to the political landscape of the State of Osun and Nigeria at large.
The host of the book launch, Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe in his welcome address praised the political demagogue, Chief Bisi Akande for being persistent all through the years from a ward councillor to a national leader of four viable political parties.

Barrister Boss Gida Mustapha ably represented by Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Sunday Dare, said "Ordinarily, without representing SGF, I would have been here to honour baba, Chief Bisi Akande. 'The Bisi Akande Phenomenon?' I have not read the book, but there might be no need to read the book yet, because Chief Bisi Akande's life itself is a book.
"I recall my physical contact with baba Akande. 12 years ago. As a journalist, I note afar, I covered him, I reported his political activities. But at very close quarters in twelve years, I learnt a lot, not just from him, but from his very close parley, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I got the best of my political tutelage under the two political gentlemen. And I dare say I got my Phd in politics after 12 years of working closely with them.
"The challenge of building the APC presided with interim chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, and of course, the think-tank Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.", said Sunday Dare.
Professor Tunde Babawale of University of Lagos presented a fastidious book review about "The Bisi Akande Phenomenon?". He said, " Chief Bisi Akande is one Nigeria's most prominent and highly revered politicians. He has been deputy governor of Oyo State, governor of the State of Osun, and different times chairman of four political parties, notably, the Alliance for Democracy, Action Congress, Action Congress of Nigeria and the All Progressives' Congress.
"He has also been a councillor in his local government in Ila and as far back as 1977, got elected into the Constituent Assembly. Although he was a Governor for just one term, his tenure in the office has remain reference point in purpose governance, not just in the south west of Nigeria but in the country at large.
"What is of greater significance as far as I'm concerned, is not just the writtenness of its content, but also the fluidity of the presentation put together in 10 chapters. The seven scholars that contributed chapters to the book, present us with an Xray of the unusual governance style of chief Adebisi Akande, who in chapter 8 are being rightly described as a rebel in government house.", said Babawale.
Interlude was made by a very popular cognomen praiser, Ajobiewe for praising the dignitaries at the high table one after the other. Many dignitaries from the audience sprayed him money for lighting the mood of the occasion.
The lead editor, Prof. Lai Olurode gave his remark titled, "Terminating political armour age by ethical asset."
Chief Host of the book launch, Governor of The State of Osun, Gov. Adegboyega Oyetola in his speech described Chief Bisi Akande as "a pride to The State of Osun and Nigeria. His life , politics, philosophy, leadership dynamics and lifestyle accurately exemplify him as an outstanding Omoluabi and a phenomenon in the nation's budding democracy. He represents everything The State of Osun stands for, and radiates the honour and stewardship our nation exudes. Indeed, Chief Bisi Akande is a model for contemporary politicians, youths and school children who the nation looks up to as its hope.
" This octogenarian was a compendium of wisdom during the opposition days of the Progressives and even now, a formidable guide while in power.", said Gov. Oyetola.
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu spoke on behalf of all APC southwest Governor, "we honour you while you are alive" as he convey apology for not being physically present. He said baba Akande brought Osun State to life. Also, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola showed a measure of courage in the State of Osun which one cannot find anywhere.
Also, before the commencement of the book launch programme, the Council Chairman of Apapa Iganmu LCDA, Alhaja hon. Muhammed Funmilayo Akande and the Education Secretary of Apapa Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Alhaja Fausat Olawepo ushered in few pupils from Apapa LGEA schools to present a beautiful flower bouquet to Chief Bisi Akande.

Prof. Akin Abayomi, Lagos State Commissioner for Health representing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The Lagos State APC Party Chairman, Tunde Balogun representing Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. And hosts of others.
