Hon Abdul Baqee Yemisi Coker Escape Assassination Attempt

A former Deputy Chairman of the old Lagos Island Government Council and Publisher of the famous Islamic Magazine, Al-Islam, Asiwaju Abdulbaqee Yemisi-Coker was attacked by a group of boys in front of his house at Moshood Abiola Way, Ebute-Metta, Lagos. Mainland.

August24news.com gathered that the ugly incendent happened on the night of Friday 3rd January, 2020.

An eyewitness who claimed to have locked himself in a hideout, which was very close to the scene, that has placed him in a vantage position to give a vivid accounts of the attack, while reporting what he captured from his hideout, where he claimed to have locked himself while the operation lasted.

According to him the operation, was not more than ten minutes, saw the human right activist, loosing large quantum of blood.

The eyewitness, who wish to remained anonymous, said the perpetrators of the sympathetic act, came to the operation with 2 Motorbikes, driving against the traffic from the Oyingbo end of the address of operation and were equipped with two cutlasses and a gun, while he did not notice what the fourth person was equipped with, meanwhile two were mounting guards outside the corridor of the house, while the two others operating at the passage leading to the staircase of the right wing of the house.



According to him, he had them saying “He is the one, Yes that is him” on arrival before they pounced on the gray haired man, while the two inside were struggling with him, I again had one of them saying “Akuwe ni Baba yi o”

The eyewitness further said,”But for the availability of an hospital which was close to scene, of the operation, where the victim was immediately attended to, only God knows what could have happened, going by the plenty of blood, gushing out from the head of the victim”

In a chat with Asiwaju Yemisi-Coker, the matter had been reported at the appropriate Police formations and investigations are ongoing.

All efforts to extract further information from the victim who is a Media Practitioner and Human Right Activist proved abortive
