2020 Spelling Bee Competition: Apapa Iganmu Lcda eyes 'One Day Lagos Governor'

The Executive Chairman, Apapa Iganmu LCDA, Funmilayo Akande Mohammed has assured citizens of the locality that an Apapa Iganmu LCDA student will emerge as the '2020 One Day Lagos Governor'.

Since 2001, the yearly winner of the competition at the state level automatically becomes a dummy  governor to govern the centre of excellence for twenty-four hours.

Making this assertion today at the 2020 APAPA-IGANMU LCDA preliminaries, he stated that the investment of his administration to uplift the educational standard will serve as a strater for the LCDA to emerge victorious at the Grand Finale of the Spelling Bee Competition holding later in the year.

She posited that several plans are in the offing to tutor the LCDA's representatives to    emerge champion.

Enthusing further, She saluted the initiator of the competition, the former first lady of Lagos State, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, stressing that her initiative has helped students to engage in progressive ventures, which has served as avenue to drift students away from vices and delinquent activities.

Earlier, the The HOD of Education Apapa Iganmu Lcda assured the students that the present-day administration in the locality is committed to improve their  educational lives.

He spurred them to remain focused on their studies in order to bring out to limelight their envisioned dreams.

The high point of the occasion was the intellectual battle of students to clinch the available tickets  to enable them represent the local council at the state level.

After the keenly contested exercise, Olawuyi Ayomide of Community Junior Secondary School,Alapere emerged champion for the secondary category , followed  by Jossy Damilola of Kosofe Senior College, while Tosin Ajayi of Comprehensive Senior High School, Alapere  clinched the third position.
