Freeze moves out of CoolFm’s staff quaters, now a resident of 1004 flats

Its no longer news that top Nigerian on air p­ersonality, Ifedayo Olarinde popularly known as
Freeze has been reportedly fired by Cool Fm.
However,contrary to viral reports that he was
sacked for posting picture of him hugging
Basketmouth’s wife, Elsie Okpocha, the garrulous
social critic was sacked due to his absence at the
Preaenters’ meeting with the management.
In his response to our sms,freeze confirmed that
indeed, he was sacked due to his absence at the
meeting.
Meanwhile reliable sources hinted that Freeze has
been asked to vacate the staff quarters of his
former employers (AIM group).He’s presently a
resident of
A – cluster wing, 1004 flats Victoria Island.
According to our sources, the management of AIM
group was benevolent to pay half of the rent,
while Freeze is expected to pay the other half.
The sources also confirmed that Freeze
approached the head of Marketing,Ms Venus to
plead with the Executive Director AIM group – Mr
Amin Mousalli on his behalf,after he was issued a
sack letter.But all pleas to have him back fell on
deaf ears.
Sadly, his colleagues aren’t standing for
him,reasons according to our source,is because
Freeze was said to have allegedly stepped on so
many toes while working at Cool FM. “He’s not in
good terms with most of his collegues,the guy
talks too much” our source added.

Daddy Freeze’, as he is fondly referred to, is an
ace broadcaster and On Air Personality with many
years of experience. Freeze, whose real name is ­
Ifedayo Olarinde is a man of controversial taste
but still a fan favorite. He is currently the host
of the Road show Cool FM’s evening Drive Show w­
hich holds between 4pm and 9pm.
BACKGROUND
Freeze,who is biracial is an indigene of Osun
State.His mother hails from Transylvania, Rom­
ania,while his father is a native of Osun state.
He attended the University of Ibadan where he
graduated after earning a degree in Sociology.
LIFE AS A BROADCASTER
Freeze has been in the broadcasting business for
over 15 years. Speaking on his broadcasting
career and how it has panned out, he once said,
“It’s not a job anymore, it’s a way of life. Put a
microphone in front of me and I’ll start talking.
Broadcasting is what I do.”
His first radio gig was a brief three month stint
with Radio Galaxia in Romania while he was there
on holiday in 1996. He had accompanied a cousin ­
of his to the station where she hosted a kids’
programme and from there he got the inspiration
to try his hands at radio.
He came back to Nigeria that same year and
auditioned for a job at BCOS Ibadan which he
got. He went on to work there for 5years.
Speaking in an interview with Punch in January
2014, Freeze revealed that he was paid 1,500
naira at BCOS Ibadan, a small stipend judging
from the fact that MTN’s first recharge card at
that time was the same amount.
He joined Cool FM as a broascaater and
production officer in 2001, According to him, he g­
ot the Cool FM job as he was leaving university
and ended up doing his NYSC there.
During the course of his career, Freeze had the
privilege to have a one on one interviews with
likes of top local and international acts including ­
Boyz 2 Men, Angie Stone, Akon, Brian McKnight,
Sisquo, Joe, SWV, Brick and Lace, Wycleff Jean,
Caron Wheeler, Sean Paul, Kool and the Gang,
Tuface Idibia, Dbanj, and Charlie boy amongst
others.
FAMILY
Freeze is currently engaged to Dictachi Foods
Nigeria Ltd CEO, Benedica Elechi after a
whirlwind separation from his ex-wife whom he
met in his university days. He alleged he was a
victim of domestic abuse and even shared
photographic evidence on social media. The two
were blessed with 2 kids; a girl and a boy.

FREEZE AND SOCIAL MEDIA CONTROVERSIES
Freeze has come under fire a couple of times due
to some of the statements he made via his social
media handles. He once got into an issue with
popular producer, Don Jazzy when he interviewed
Tonto Dikeh and made a statement about a celebr­
ity that gave out recharge cards on Twitter to
get fame. Don Jazzy took offence as he saw
himself as the one who the statement was
directed towards and both traded words via T­
witter. The issue was eventually resolved.
Freeze has always been a man of high tastes and
in an interview with Punch, he dissed the
international brand, Michael Kors calling it
‘razz’. He also mentioned that he had a collection
of watches worth over 32 million naira. A lot of
people took to Twitter and Facebook to air their
disagreeing comments on his opinion.
He has also publicly blasted artiste, Etcetera on
Twitter for his continuous string of articles that
were directed to numerous celebrities and ente­
rtainment industry figures.
His recent jabs at artistes, dignitaries and public
personalities on social media is no news, as he a­
lways seems to have something controversial to
say concerning a trending topic.
In a reaction to the President Buhari’s
certificate saga, Freeze wrote that:
Nigerians are busy hounding him for a
certificate. If you guys don’t mind, he can come
and have mine. I will even add my UI BSC in
Sociology as I have never needed the certificate.
Ooni of Ife : Following the visit of the Ooni of
Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi to the famous
Nigerian football striker Obafemi Martins at his
residence, ths royal father shared the picture of
his visit,via social media ans Freeze took to his
social media handle to indirectly throw shades at
the king.
Pastor TB Joshua : Hours after Brussel’s terror
attack that killed over 30 people leaving many
wounded, the Synagogue Church Of All Nations
leader Prophet T.B. Joshua came forward to claim
that he predicted the attack.

Baba, leave story you didn’t predict jack!

Freeze had also attacked the prophet earlier
when he slammed the justice system for letting
the prophet go free while they arrested the MD
of Lekki Gardens.

COZA Pastor Fatoyinbo for Ese Walter denouncing
God. Walter is the woman Pastor Fatoyinbo
allegedly had an affair with. Walter is now
married to Freeze’s friends.
He wrote:
I read with pain in my heart the story that Ese
nee Walter who happens to be a close friend’s
wife, has stopped believing in GOD. And I cannot
but cast my mind to her ordeal in the hands of a
so called man of God.
Noble Igwe : Newly married Noble Igwe had
shared on social media that he doesn’t want to
stress his wife if she does not feel like cooking
and thus will eat out. Days later Freeze took to
social media to talk about Noble’s arrangement
with his wife.

marital saga with her husband Tunji Teebillz
Balogun, Freeze took to his Instagram and wrote
to Savage on her marriage.

If you had denied all his accusations and asked to
swear on ayelala or amadioha or sango as against
the lie detector test, since on no instance has a
polygraph ever been used in Nigeria, and if
afterwards you had requested for privacy, as you
deal with such a sensitive issue, this matter
would have been laid to rest. How are you going
to tell Nigerians not to talk about issues you
‘used your own hand’ to make public? This could
only serve to further delay your healing.
