Agog as party leaders, Community leaders, League of Imams & Alfas, representatives of Christian Association of Nigeria, Market Men & Women, Community Development Associations, Youth bodies, party faithfuls and other stakeholders thronged to Apapa Iganmu Lcda Secretariat , the venue for Apapa Iganmu Constituency II year 2019 Annual Constituency Stakeholders Meeting held simultaneously across the 40 house of Assembly constituencies in Lagos State.
Hon. Funmilayo AKANDE Mohammed, the Executive Chairman of Apapa Iganmu Lcda in his welcome address congratulated Hon. Olumuyiwa Wahab Jimoh, member Lagos State House of Assembly representing Apapa Iganmu Constituency II who also doubles as the Yaa Wahab today on his outing.
The Council Mayor also acknowledged the apt step of the Lagos State House of Assembly led by the Honourable speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, organized to sought stakeholders contributions on theme; Environmental Challenges; Community Engagement to Facilitate Lasting Solution.
The Chief Security officer of the Local Council, Hon. Saliu tasked The Kabiesis, Baales, Community leaders and Security agencies on collaborative measures to tackle insecurity, herdsmen and land grabbers activities across the Local Council Area.
Hon. Funmilayo AKANDE Mohammed, sought the support of the entire people of Epe Constituency II for Hon. Sylvester Oluwaseun Ogunkelu. He reiterated his confidence in Hon. Wahab political will to deliver, as he hoped for a successful deliberation.
Hon. Wahab popularly in his keynote address informed that based on past meetings, himself and the leadership of the Lagos State House of Assembly have decided to address the issues of environmental challenges. This is why the theme for this edition is "Environmental Challenges: Community Engagement to Facilitate Lasting Solution".
Hon. Funmilayo AKANDE Mohammed, further expressed that it is their believe that this can be best achieved through curbing the continued indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the streets, drainages. Creating awareness on the hazardous impact of environmental challenges in the State, among others.
She assured constituents that whatever information, suggestions and contributions gathered from this exercise would be used by the government in policy formulation and execution.
Meanwhile, the Senator Ouremi Tinubu ably represented by Mrs Otitolaiye, the Lagos Centra Senatorial Women Leader suggests , an effort geared towards ensuring waste to wealth for our people.
Stakeholders at the meeting offered suggestions on likely solutions to environmental challenges one of which is frequent desilting of drainages among others.
